City On Fire (1987)…

… About the silly conspiracy…

You may have already heard the name of this movie, think about Reservoir Dogs. What’s the link ? This is the original hong kong version ! A lot of people were angry, saying Quentin Tarantino is a fucking piece of shit (yes, they are angry !) because he’s stealing movies and blablabla… But, I think the main point isn’t “the thief”, it’s more “and why don’t we watch the original movie ?”. After all, Cinema isn’t a fucking war where hate is everywhere and bullshit like that, it’s about sharing whatever you want. Instead of hating Quentin Tarantino, and trying to kill him, go discover Ringo Lam and his nihilist movies ! Seriously, i’ve read a thousand times “RESERVOIR DOGS IS A NON OFFICIAL REMAKE OF CITY ON FIRE ! SHAME ON YOU TARANTINO ! YOU RACIST PIG“, but few people were able to talk about “City On Fire” and even the On Fire Trilogy (City/Prison/School), they just didn’t care, it was more important to say “TARANTINO YOU ASSHOLE“. You really want to say : “Hey man, i think you can go to the toilets if you want to vomit shit like that !“. Because it’s useless.
And so, City On Fire ? An undercover cop infiltrates a gang and got respect from the leader, there is no manicheism in here, just men a little lost in a Hong Kong without future.

… for the game “Clock Tower 3″…

Few months before Kinji Fukasaku’s death, the old japanese director, most known for Battle Royale (and god knowns he made a lot of masterpiece in the 60’s/70’s), shot a commercial and some cinematical sequences for a game (Clock Tower 3). Here is the making-of and the final version. Quite surprising to discover Kinji Fukasaku in something like that, it was maybe a funny challenge. I don’t know if the game is good or not, but it still cool to see Fukasaku !

…he used to talk with a chainsaw… directed by Sam Raimi

You’re young, you’re happy because you’are going to spend holidays with friends in a little house somewhere in a wonderful forest. Yes, you’re young and you’re free ! But, what you’ve dreamt about these holidays won’t happen. There won’t be a camp fire with guitar and corny stories, no cool walk in the nature, just horror. Your dream will turn to a nightmare where everything goes wrong ! Your beautiful friends, no more. Your cool life, no more. Why ? This little house is just Hell, you’re in the mouth of horror ! Meaning, your friends become angry ugly face zombie who want to eat you ! No emotions or bullshit like that, but survive at any cost, so why don’t you use the chainsaw to kick some zombie old friends asses ? This movie isn’t a banal horror movie, it can seems cheap, but don’t forget how amazing it has been filmed, with light which show real horror on actor’s face, special effects that make horror real. And a lots of others awesome ideas. As Bruce Campbell once said, “if you don’t need it, you have it, and if you need it, you haven’t it !” In a word, watch it.
